Yesterday, Friday, September 6, Dave Carr and I drove to Dunsmuir, CA, to have lunch at Yaks, a famous Burger Place hat many people stop at on I-5. I drove from Chico, an Dave from his home in the Salem, Or. area. We both drove our Newport ragtops, his a '68, mine a '70. Happy to say both cars made it there and back with no issues, drew a number of gawkers while we were eating, and Dave and I had a great lunch together. It was a good time! As Dave wrote on Facebook, "Let's not wait another 9 years to to this again!" Dave and I met in 2010 when he joined Steve Hobby and I in Philomath, OR, to load up the (by then heavily abused) '62 New Yorker onto Steve's trailer so he could get the cart back to Jersey. We've been trying to meet for quite some time but the fires in the past two years stopped a number of our plans. The weather, and fires, were great this time! Yes, we took up the front! That's Dave in front of Yaks. Great place to eat!! Right off I-5 in Dunsmuir. Good service too! Take your pic: Front End Friday or Tail End Tuesday!
