Hey guys I'm about a week away from flying to Philadelphia and driving back to the Chicagoland area in a 1973 Imperial.

For Sale - 73 Imperial daily driver

I'm placing a parts order and am open for suggestions on tools or what to include in my emergency parts kit. Will be bringing a spare fuel pump and ICM for sure.
What else do you guys think...AAA membership? Haha

Oh does anyone know for certain what axle this should have...I'd like to get a diff gasket. Ten bolt 8 3/4?

You are looking at a 12 hour drive through a populated area, check the fluids and go. With 3-4 stops for gas just look it over each time.
AAA card will get you to the parts store, buy the parts use the loaner tools.

You may want to look into what the airline will allow you to bring. It'd be interesting to watch as you go through security with a bunch of weird looking parts and a tool bag. It could make for a very looooooooooong and troublesome day for you at the airport, maybe even make you a criminal/felon. Just sayin is all!

AAA card is not a joke, but a must have. Try to get the names of FCBO members along the route that maybe able to help you out.

Yeah I thought of that too but I'm gonna have that stuff checked in, I'm not carrying it on board. Years ago on a flight out to Long Island to buy a 1990 VNT Shadow ES, security looked through my tools and didn't seem to have any issues after an explanation of the purpose of my trip. Thanks for the heads up though

Now so'z not the get in any fist fightz that would definally get me ah police record, my tool bag today consists of my Cell Phone and my VISA, WIN WIN, Jer

I live in the Toledo area. If you are driving via 80-90 turnpike, I am 5 minutes off the turnpike exit for I-280. Keep us posted as your driving thru. Maybe we can catch you for a minute.

I run Glympse on my road trips so family and friends can follow.

If cover bolts on the rear and being a Imp I would say 9.25 (looks like a stop sign)
Straight and Phillips screwdriver, channel locks, vice grips a couple of big and little and real little hose clamps and a old piece of rad hose for patches. Duct tape.
Gas and go.
I would stay off the turnpike because they are a desert if you have a problem that can't be fixed with a 1/4er and a latte. Route 30- 283- 322- I80 to I76 to I71 back onto route 30 in Massillon Oh west to the windy has lots of places to buy parts, tools, and services on the way.

Even boxed up and sent through as checked baggage, it may raise some eyebrows once that box gets lit up by the X-ray machine. Best to cover all bases and check with the airline first. Good Luck

Ditto on the PA Turnpike, I travel it every day, 14 miles between exits is a long way to walk.
