Round the Block: Driving our 1969 CHP Polara 440

Kinda funny, that in 2024, we still see someone driving without a seatbelt.
He did keep the lap belt on, chose not to keep the shoulder belt attached.

The CHP cars did have retractors on the shoulder belt unlike the civilian cars, with those on you cannot change the radio with removing them.

Do you know the person that restored the car, that died of cancer, was it someone I might recognize from here?
Derek (Limey on FCBO) purchased the car from Tom (the one in the video) needing restoration, it was a driver. Derek restored the car with some enhancements to the engine. When Derek died the car (and others) were left to Tom. Tom got some parts from me to get the unique shoulder belts back in the car.

Tom originaly sold the car to get funds to restore the Dick Landy ramp truck.

The truck was in sad shape when he got it.
