A fine example of an automobile, even with it's restrained vertical stabilizers. Love the racing version with the decals added too!

Utter, purposeful uselessness is an absolute sin.
I bet Exner is Jonesing for an airtemp system right about now.

That's exactly what I was thinking Fred.

To each his own.
However, one of the reasons (if not the only) why the top brass at Chrysler finally gave Ex his walking papers was because he went totally bananas with the whole "forward look" thing....and WTH does that mean? forward to what....the future? (of course that's what he'd propose). Two foot tall fins, wings, garish colors, and fake rocket engine exhaust represents the future? Nyet, comrades. Pure marketing hype. Exner's genius was not in designing or conceiving the "forward look". Gauging the psyche of the public at the precise time and realizing Chrysler could also sell more cars by plopping needless and utterly useless appendages on automobiles at that time was his stroke of ingenuity. And boy did He nail it. Now, he'll just be known as the guy who tacked soaring fins on the *** ends of Imperials, Chryslers, Dodges, and Plymouths (fake tire prottrudences on trunk lids are another sin against design). Probably even had fins hammered onto the commode at his residence so that it would provide more aerodynamic stability at higher speeds. Probably could have sold thousands of those as well at that time.
