I am looking for a complete short ram setup; intake/exhaust/carbs/air cleaners/linkage/tubes

I think the 1963/1964 J/K cars have the same setup, but perhaps someone could educate me?

    Thanks!

Thanks Newport 66! I have that site bookmarked and am trying to learn the mysteries and intricacies. It seems that there are more long rams than short rams out there. Thankfully, it seems that some parts are being reproduced.

The information supplied by Newport66 was most informative. I also am planning to install a Short Ram and have been gathering parts, literally for years. The main problem are the correct carb's. So far, they seem most rare and don't exist in my world. My question is, what are you to use the Short Ram in? A 300 "J" or "K", or are you like me and wanting to put them in something else? I was planning them for my 66 Sport Fury Convertible, but not being able to complete the parts acquisition process. So a standard four barrel intake was used. T do have both the Long and Short ram manifolds with most everything except "Carb's". I wish you luck! Let me know if you find two sets of carbs, I can use a set as well. Remember, the carbs were different for the Short Ram's with specific ID numbers. Again, Good Luck. Keep all informed on your progress for the quest for the Holy Grail of Chrysler Intakes.

    Thanks sa-noia!

The destination brute is a 64 300k, I am awaiting block/data plate/vin info, but i suspect this ouwld be a sort of "K Ram Clone", as it has a single 4 bbl. (BooOOOoo!). There is another 300k that has the complete short ram setup, original block and is a factory K-Ram car, but the price is twice what I am looking at for the "KRC". I am more of an originality nut, but might be willing to bend a bit considering the cost and that I could pay for the setup (almost the cost of the car) later as I have a couple options.

I would think calling carb shops all around this great nation might be a good idea, those carbs must have been used in different applications somewhere, or they are just gathering dust on a shelf...most carb shops I have been to have tens of dozens if not hundreds of orphan carbs laying around. I will certainly check back with you if I find anything that might be helpful to you.

Sa-noia - You might contact this seller and see what the carb numbers are on these long rams...maybe you'll get lucky! $2500 for long rams and carbs, if the carbs and cleaners will work, sell the long rams and make some money back! If you're going to Fresno, you may want to bring a sidearm (at least).

If you were doing a period correct restoration in a car that the shortrams would have came in, the correct carbs would be important. Since you're installing the intake on a 66 Fury, and you want good driveability, might I suggest the Edelbrock carbs? I installed longrams in my Newport and have a set of OEM carbs (that need a complete rebuild) on the shelf, but went with the 1406's with electric chokes. Bolt on installation and excellent driveability. You can get re-man carbs from several sources and save some $ or buy new. Just food for thought.
