So, this is what happened to all the 90's Dodge vans.

They will rust where the steering box mounts and cannot be repaired is what I was told by several owners.
 
I usually think of vans as work vehicles, waiting to go to the junkyard to be raided for parts.
 
That'd be one of my least favorite year "Dajiban".
But who am I to judge?
 
The room in these vans are often times bigger than apartments in Tokyo.

In the first video he mentions that they originally were using the vans to haul race bikes to the track. Someone must have had the crazy idea to blast around the track in his van, and it all probably started from there.

My theory on "why Dodge": There are a few U.S. military bases in Japan, and I suspect the first vans may have been surplus military units, as the Navy used Dodge vans for decades.
