I tried doing a search, but came up with nada. Does anyone know where I can get a trunk pan from. Are there after market pans made by anyone?

I got one of those, total junk. You might as well use sheet stock. These have impressions in them that are more like scratches, not even remotely close to factory.

Thanks guys. I feel like an *** and I didn't even want to post this, but this is what I found when removing the POs black carpet from the trunk to start putting in a stereo system I've wanting to do for awhile now and have some fun for a change instead of fixing things on the car. I had no friggin idea this was there. Now, I'm wondering if I should just do a custom pan made from sheet metal?? What's you guys opinion on this?? It's a shame, the rest of the pan is in good shape. Another set back! Crap!!

The PO if you guys remember, hit a tree on that side, so I guess he never cared about finishing the trunk after having the quarter panel put in or just didn't care and covered it with carpet! Well,I care.

Even in my somewhat nice restoration project we chose not to worry about it.

You can see where a piece of the bad panel was used and the difference.

In my case there will be some equipment screwed to the floor and the mat will not be able to be moved to show this.

IMHO, if you are tired of fixing things, let this go for now.

Screw a piece of sheet metal over the top and toss the carpet back in.

In the meantime, keep you eyes open for another trunk floor you can get that piece from. You have a lot to work with there and a very nice repair could be done with just some sheet metal or possibly a piece of trunk floor from any random Mopar. The point is you don't have to completely rip out the trunk floor to fix it.

Another option... clean it up with a grinder and paint a coat of POR-15 over it. While the stuff is wet, put a piece of fiberglass cloth over it. A little more POR-15 on the top and you'll have a pretty solid floor. Some people will winch at that, but it gets the car back to having fun mode with an afternoon worth of work and not much $$.... and you can go back and fix it "correctly" any time. I have done this with "driver" type cars and been very happy with the results.

Thanks Alan. I'll break out the cut-off wheel and do the same thing you did. I just wasn't expecting what I saw when I removed the carpet. I'll fix it and move on!

Another good idea. Thanks Big_John. My car will never be restored, because it's not a stock car anyway. I'm just looking for a nice looking car that I'm proud of.

Alan?? will you come over to my place and fix my trunk floors when the need arises?? PLEASE!!!!!!!!:wave3:

You both are probably referring to Murray Park in Tiffin Ohio. Great guy with plenty of parts cars and even NOS parts.
I have used him many times in the past for restoring my cars.
