thanks!

The Sticky??

You know the "sticky" at the top of the form page where someone posts about these "great" replacement panels and then Stan says that they are junk, and then someone else chimes in with photos showing that they kind of work with lots of cutting, but then someone else comes back with how bad they really are and then we all complain that they don't make anything for C bodies, and finally someone posts a picture of a fine young lady with boobs and we all forget about what we are talking about and never get the important sticky warning everyone about the bad trunk pans that we all wished they would make. :eek:ccasion14:

Oh! ....lol! I see! ......doh! Thanks samplingman ......i got an idea lets cut straight to the boobs!!

On reflection i would like to see examples of the trunk pans fitting or otherwise, Anyone out there care to oblige? .....but I'll settle for boobs!

I've posted these pictures in another thread but I'll post them again here. This was a trunk floor for a 59 Desoto so it's a different style than you're looking for but the floor I bought is the same low quality piece of tin that they make for the newer C body's also. Now that being said the end result was very good. The customer was happy and even I was satisfied with how it came out. It took a lot of measuring, cutting and welding to make it work so be prepared for way more labor hours than an AMD trunk floor for a B or E body requires.Christmas 201320140109_01.jpgChristmas 201320140109_02.jpgChristmas 201320140109_03.jpgChristmas 201320140109_04.jpgChristmas 201320140110_07.jpgChristmas 201320140110_08.jpgChristmas 201320140122_06.jpgChristmas 201320140122_10.jpgChristmas 201320140125_01.jpgChristmas 201320140227_06.jpg

So Big_John, are you telling us that the C2C panels are no good?
I am about to order a trunk pan and side pieces.

Yep, they are pretty much crap. I used some for my 53 Chrysler. Some were somewhat usable with a lot of work and some weren't worth trying to use.

There's been a few guys that have used their panels and posted some pics. They have made them "work"... In other words, there's a trunk with a floor in it. But if you're expecting the fit of AMD sheet metal or factory NOS, you will be very disappointed.

Nobody makes anything for C-bodies that are even barely acceptable. Period.
Deal with it. There are no Buts and Ifs here...

I went through the same thing when I went through my AMC phase. The cars don't sell for much (didn't at that time, AMX's are getting up there finally), so no one spends any money to restore them, so no aftermarket companies see a need to produce any parts for them.

IMO go buy some metal forming tools and start learning how to make your own panels, I really doubt anyone will start producing parts for C bodies anytime soon.
