Weather was perfect this morning in Daytona! Covered maybe half the show before my feet told me to hit the Hooters across the street.
A few more “C”s this year but not many.

Couple of very friendly gals brought these white Polaras.

This Fury had a nice gold interior you don’t see often.

I spent most of my time cruising the huge car corral.

All that shiny black paint looked really smooth! I like this car. Fortunately I didn’t bring $63k this trip!

As close to a “selfie” I’ll ever take!

Factory a/c car with push buttons and the center cushion/armrest.
Always liked these but the rust thru on the passenger side and the mystery in that drivers quarter reflects his price. I thought these usually went for some bucks.

Everyone has a favorite 50s Chebby. I have a favorite 50s Chevy color!
They look reddish in the sun but Aztec Copper with beige or white is my favorite.
My uncle had a 56 2dr and a neighbor had a 59 Impala vert this color when I was a kid.

A fun day in the sun but not a event I’d ever show a car at.
Too many of these scooters running all over the place. Between the scooters, buggies and guys pulling wagons anywhere they please, 3 hours was all I could take. Saw more than one car scratched by guys driving these things between cars.

And a lot of this.

I think that Edsel bled-out right there! Never seen a car leak that much and still run.

Time for Hooters. My feet are killing me.

Wish I could make my Google photo albums of the past Turkey Runs public, tried & tried, used to be able when it was Picasa Photos, stupid Google.

But here how it was up at Bellair Plaza over a decade ago.

Was up there on Tuesday morning and it appears they have finally put the kibosh on the show cars gathering up there. (it was really getting out of hand)

One Daytona, really don't need a crystal ball to figure out who's behind all this Ya Think?

I believe the Bellaire lot cruise was still on in 2016. Guys just cruise N.Atlantic Blvd. after the show now.
What’s One Daytona?

Man this show is on my bucket list. Almost made it once
It’s huge as Bernie would say and fills the entire infield. Could easily be a two day thing to cover everything. Skip Thursday (good day to fly in) as many of the cars don’t get there till Friday.
Other than clubs parking together there is no organization by car brand, year, style so you want to walk the whole thing.

All these shot were taken with an old iphone. Just quick snap shots. I didn’t bother to bring my SLR. Know from experience you really can’t get good shots at this show. Place does get crowded and you see how close the show cars are parked together. The car corral is more loosely packed.

Yea years ago before mobility scooters became the norm, golf carts ruled and asshats on 2-stroke powered skateboards were a big problem, so much so that the $$pedway banned anyone from bringing them in and brought in a (Vendor$$$) outside rent-a-cart company with proper insurance (someone got hurt & sued) and made sure only driver licensed operators rented them. Don't know if they did any sober checking (moonshine Georgia boy's in stall next to us :poke:) . Don't know if this is still going on as I think the vendor lost $$$ with the prices they were charging and the cut the $$$pedway was grabbing.

Yea I just checked and the last pictures I have of Bellair were from 2016, only took about 1/2 dozen, just walked the two front rows and when I saw **** like this it was time to go!

Last year they were still up there as I drove by a couple of times and with eyeballing all the GM's in the front row I just kept on going.

"Guys just cruise N.Atlantic Blvd. after the show now."
Yea there was a popular Hotel spot with people lining the sidewalk with lawn chairs for the burnoutfest, cops got on it many years ago, plenty of YouTube videos up over the years, lotta big $$$ tickets written, they have moved on to other areas (like the street racing)
Last year when I went to the Daytona Mall after the run I could see that they tore up that lot pretty good and found YouTube videos of the one cop car that arrived to break it up LOL.

One Daytona is... (think high priced trendy shopping mall) the new sprawl across the Boulevard from the $peedway, sort of the Disney-a-facation the France Family has brought to the City. Kind of a slap in the face to the City IMO, they wanna keep the race fans $$$ all to themselves, charge extra to shop there with a added on fee/tax to your receipt too.
Just like when the Volusia Mall opened up, the downtown and Main St. area went to blight.
And the City/County/State gave the billionaires a big tax break to boot!
But I hear all is not well over there, just like the Pavilion Mall in the city to the south, would I drive the extra miles and pay a 1/2 cent tax to shop at a Dollar Tree? Don't think so...

Yea you got to be there at the crack of dawn to get crowd free shots. I was lucky as a vendor friend of mine would always have a extra pass to get in before it was opened up to the general public. Even with Bellair Plaza, go to Drunken Donuts get coffee, over to the Daytona 200 Memorial to watch the sunrise then off too Bellair. By the time I got sick of changing batteries and the 256mb card was full with the crowds arriving it was beer-o-clock!

heh 256mb & 512mb cards take a guess what era that was!

I couldn’t believe the number of millennial guys riding these scooter things. And they drive these just like their daily drivers. You know, plate of nachos on lap, cell phone in hand not watching where they’re going. Yes, it’s a big show field and many people need a lift, but they do have a good shuttle system inside and out to the parking lots. I saw entire families, kids and all, with their own scooters. And they seem to think they just have to all ride abreast of each other.

Salt? What salt?

Was surprised by how many show cars drove the beach.
