My '69 is pretty well equipped but doesn't have an under hood light. Was there an optional light? Any pics?

TIA,

The trunk light used a door switch-type contact switch, I suspect. The underhood lights usually had an internal "mercury switch" that automatically illuminated when the hood was raised. Some of them worked pretty well.

Absent an NOS item, you can replicate this from a salvage yard item as many GM cars used such in the '70s.

Buy a strip of LEDs, hide behind upturned edge of hood reinforcement behind striker. Hide power wire under hood pad and along windshield washer hose. Add switch next to strip. Done.

I would have said no. Not sure I've seen a underhood light in the 70/71 Chrysler / Dodge / Plymouth line up.

Thanks guys! Mostly I was concerned that mine might be MIA. Now that I know it never was I can quit worrying about it. I'll just keep a 12v drop light in the trunk, I doubt I'll ever need it.
