He's sure proud of them. Perhaps it's a skewed mentality on my part, but whenever I see a car that has a decade worth of vegetation on and around it- it becomes a $400 car in my mind.

John Fowlie is a great guy and major support to the Forwardlook community.

These are projects cars. The parts cars sit in the back of the yard.

    400$ for a 57-61 Forwardlooker 2dr HT with a solid body?
Good joke the complete floors alone are worth around 2200$ for a 57-59 Chrysler/Desoto

You need to have knowledge at what you look though.
Most of these aren't average more door slabsides from 1965 which are sitting at every corner

Probably because the slabs are still running, but hey- it's worth whatever someone will pay him for it.

That black Imperial is very interesting. I've never seen one like that. '55 or '56?
Several others look like great prospects/projects. Hope they all find good homes.

sure the slabs have a better quality, are reliable and have way less weak areas than Forwardlook cars.

But the value of a car does not just come from its qualities alone but popularity.
As a result some of those forwardlook cars bring way different prices as solid project cars than other models like slabsides in comparison.

Can you imagine the prices if those would be Mopar wing cars instead of Forwardlooker?
    Prices would be

I have a hunch this might be the junkyard up in Williams (north of Sacramento off I-5). You can see it on the west side of the highway.

Too bad it's on bookface, that definitely limits one's options.

Yes, John, that is Big M Automotive run by John Fowlie.

As Carsten said, he is a great guy - no one as helpful, as easy to work with and reliable as he is except our own Murray Park. They are both class acts and I have only positive things to say about each of them. John Fowlie has bailed me out of problem hard to find parts for my Forward Look cars over decades now just like Murray has for my more modern fuselage cars.

I just wonder how many guys are left who are willing to take on the job of restoring any of these cool Forward Look cars. Very difficult and expensive cars to restore.

Very true but if one has the means and ability to do so it is sure worth the effort. Virgil Exner and The Chrysler Corp. built some stunning cars in that era.

Thought I recognized that yard Steve. Never been in it but passed it many times in my travels between SoCal and Seattle. Kinda hard to miss from either direction but jumpz right out atcha when your south bound. Happy Trails, Jer

I was referring to the more desirable 2 door one.

It's a matter of personal preference, I like the '56 Imperial more than I do the '55 and would happily buy a 4-door '56 over a 2-door '55. One day

I love those rare forward looking cars and I would restore a couple if money was unlimited! I wonder if he has any of the slab side years as I sure could use some aluminum and stainless trim for my 67 Monaco 500 but Facebook is not easy for contact and info. Guess I’ll look up that yard name.
