Base plate for this 64-65 Chrome top!

What type of carburetor? I have a base plate but i have the small opening to suit the Carter AFB.

Here is the p

ic of the base, it measures exactly 18in wide and the hole is 4.25in wide.

Your tape measure doesn't look to be on the edge when you measured in that pic? is that correct, 18"? My aircleaner top is 17 3/16 wide. If that base was on here it could not breath? ( there is no snorkel, or opening in it) It has to be a un-silenced type base with a gap? I know the opening measurement, but not the bottom, unless I am missing something here, how does it breath?

This is the base from my 65 426 Sport fury.

Wow, is that an original? If so, then mine may be also - the fact that the dimples are present on the outside edge made me think someone had just trimmed a larger one to replace a lost original.
