so if I modify my car then with this little grommet it won't be 100% factory?

I don't need to worry about that then since this car has been reborn a few times now!

My 69 Newport has the switch on the floor. cant really see it here cuz of the e-brake, but it's there.

Use the grommet. I've run across where threads from the carpet have jammed the switch.

I've probably already said this a bunch of times. Use a soldering iron to make the hole. Much easier and cleaner results.

My '69 Imperial do have the grommet! But only for 1 of the switches. Maybe the other one just got lost. And I'm pretty sure it's the factory carpet.

OK...Here,s a stupid question...why do you have 2 switches, I,m thinking the original seized up and they installed a second one instead of fixing properly.
