If you are using the OEM STOCK oil pan for your car, this one:

I had to tweak my oil pickup with a Milodon stock replacement oil pan.
Especially if you're using the baffle.

You'll hate it. You don't need. You'll have issues with it. It's for guys that need to show off.
This is the one you want:

I really want a painted pan with a 6 qt capacity, but no parts guys know anything about the 65 k member. The 4 qt scares me. I have only done holeshots, and run through the gears seperate, but am leary of a holeshot followed by 6000 rpm shifts all the way down.

i was looking at this pan and either of these 2 pick ups

I want you to look at the correct oem #187 or a #699 pan for your car:

Look at relief stamped into the bottom of the pan. You need that notch to clear the suspension, especially the idler arm.
Ever guy with a BB slab I know has had to add that notch either with a BFH or some fabrication & welding to aftermarket pans.

This AIN"T going to clear.

You're absolutely determined to buy it so nothing more that I can say.
I hope you prove me wrong.

B body oil pan on a 65 Fury

Ok so my 65 Fury has a 971 pan in it.There are no clearance issues. I took some pics of it to hopefully help someone down the road. Mine is a 5 qt plus one, which is fine with me, I just need the non crunched model.pan1.jpgpan2.jpgpan3.jpg
