The car originally had 8.55-14 tires, and has 2.25-75-14 tires now. They are 13 years old and have cracking and probably dry rot and who knows what. Local tire dealers tell me bigger sized 14's are not easy to find, specially white wall except at places like Diamond or Coker. And there will be less made over the next 10 years. The selection of 15" whitewalls was better, and they were an option on this body style when equipped with Budd disc brakes.

So I swapped a year-old 215-75-15 WW tire/wheel combo from my Polara to the Chrysler. No rubs, rides better. For now I have the centers covered with some old 70's Chrysler wheel covers. Two questions.

1. Do you think this will be an adequate tire size for the car?
2. The car looks dowdy with these hubcaps. Any suggestions for spiffy hubcaps or road wheels. Did Mopar have some road wheel like the old Imperial hubs? I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks Doug

They used magnum 500's but I believe the Mopar version was a 14 inch wheel. Lots of people use the 15 inch version that came on some Fords. You need to make sure you get ones with a 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern

There was this a few weeks ago
That would be their Tiger Paw AWP II

I Installed 15x6 steel rims from my 68 New Yorker parts car to my 66 Polara, and Installed Michelins, which were available in a whitewall then, but not any more. They are 225/75-15, and I wished I had done 215/75 The Michelins were always a bigger tire than other brands in the same number size. In any other brand, either will work. An original 8.55x14 is a tall tire, but not necessarily wider than a 225. I have a full set of those old tires, new on the shelf. So I always use them for comparative purposes only. If you like I can provide those measurements, from a real OEM Chrysler wagon replacement. I also picked up a nice set of original 15' Disc brake Chrysler hubcaps on Ebay. It worked for me!
