Who's good at the carb id game?

So yeah, scored a 318 poly 4bbl motor finally. Motor is stamped 1962, intake manifold casting 1859229, heads 2268341. Carb is in pretty good shape but can't find any info for it. Carter AFB..... no tag as usual..... just stamped 3858S with B5 underneath. Any info like CFM, year, motors, rebuild kits ect would be awesome. Thanks dudes

Thanks! Yeah found that the other day.....1965 413. Also found mention of 318 Canadian High Performance somewhere. No solid info on CFM and rebuild stuff though.

I'm trying. Little stinker's got one piston froze and soaking in PB Blaster. Almost flipped the stand over with my trusty 1 1/4" 6pointer and 4foot cheater bar. She's locked up pretty good....

The B5 is the date code - February 1965 or 1975, but likely '65.

3858S is the carb model number.

Govier's pocket book says this carb is for a 413 from 1965. No other specs.

50/50 acetone and trans fluid will work much better freeing it up.

Seeing it's a Carter AFB from a '65 413 and rebuild kit would be #599.
If it's like my Carter 4401 AVS (68 Sport Fury 383 with AT) it's around 600-625 CFM. Chrysler didn't worry as much about announcing CFM. You can dig around and find an approximate number. Chrysler seemed to prefer HP & torque ;-)
