Widest 28" diam wheel/tyre under 66 Chrysler 300?

I'm curious about why the diameter is so specific.

I don't know the answer to your question, but since the diameter seems to be important, I thought I'd list a few sizes that are within 0.5" of 28" tall. I just calculated these. I didn't double-check to see that there are actual tires available in these sizes.

245/60-15: 27.5"
255/65-15: 28.1"
265/60-15: 27.5"
275/60-15: 28"
285/60-15: 28.5"
295/55-15: 27.8"

Just a guess, but I think you'll be looking at the 275/60, and maybe rears only.

just in case you haven't been there yet -
fender skirts got to come off
raise rear end of car to drop suspension down so you have more room to change the tire/wheel out
the L on the end of the wheel studs - means lefty thread. very important

$.02

cheers, and gut rot, and all that. god save the queen.

Thanks, and yes, already know that! Also i have written in a paint pen on the lip when you remove the skirt " CAUTION-LEFT HAND THREAD", Tyre shops here in Oz aren't that bright with lefty threads!

I have 235/75-15 Cooper tires on 6" Magnum 500 wheels on my 66 300 and it looks and drives wonderfully.
They are just under 29" diameter with no fitment problems at all.
