Recommended? I do a few hard launches every now and then, but mostly cruisin.

I added one in my Imp, several pros and no cons. Why wouldn't you??

As a general rule of thumb it's worth about 15 HP at the stripe in the quarter mile in your typical mid 10 to low 12 second drag car. Yes worth it on a drag car. On a street car.... Well I kinda like have some oil splashing around at 2500-3500 RPM. A little longevity is a good trade off. On my very mild drag car I switched from 10w40 Dino oil to 5W30 Dino & it picked up 2 hundredths in the eight mile. Oil PSI was about 10 psi lower however coming back up the return road. Keep in mind the engine had only run about 5 minutes total at that point. Yes a few seconds wide open. That says a lot right there.

It's a good idea and cheap horsepower in a drag car. In a street car, the gains are less, if any gains can be had. There's no harm in doing it, but not worth the trouble if you have to take the pan off just to install it. If the pan is off for another reason.... then it might make sense to put one on.

Agreed. I wouldn't add it unless the pan was off anyways.
