Windshield differences?

Hello everybody, I am in need of a windshield for my 1972 newport 4 door (im assuming hardtop not sure) a member here was generous enough to offer one from a 1970 newyorker 4 door with the pillar. I was wondering if this would work for mine? Heres a pic of my car and his.

Will not work, about 2" difference in height.

So would a 2 door hardtop windshield work for my application as well? 69-73 are the years i was told does that sound right?

yes 2 and 4 door hardtops ( no pillar) and convertible windshields are the same

4 door sedans (with pillar) and station wagons use the same ones which are different than the hardtop ones
