I have to remove the windshield from the parts car without breaking it. Anyone ever successful at this? What is the best way? I've used the wire method with limited success. I remember someone used a solvent to soften up the sealer, but what solvent is strong enough to penetrate 45 year old windshield glue? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Wire... the only way.

It helps if you use a long length of wire and "saw" with it. As you move it fast, the heat builds and cuts the ribbon faster. Once you get past the first few inches, it gets easier.

There is only one: M.E.K.
Just be prepared for hallucinatory effects if not VERY WELL VENTILATED!

The best wire is braided picture hanging wire. Its courseness works like a saw and is impossibly strong.
