Hello all, as per the other thread I am replacing the windshield on my 77 Royal Monaco wagon and it looks to me like the windshield seal is the type that has wires in it and you heat it up with 32 volts so it becomes soft and sticky.
Am I thinking along the right line? I remember the 70 Dodge Phoenix over here ( Fury body tagged as Dodge here in OZ ) and the Fords about that year used them.
Ok so my question is if that is the correct seal are they still available?? can't find anything on etc.

By that time in the USA OEM brands, most were "caulking gun" windshield sealer. Never heard of the "heated wire" embedded in the sealer. The removal tools might have a heated wire in them, but not the sealer itself, that I've seen or heard of for those models of vehicles. Something I was not aware of?

I've removed three Formal windshields. Just glass on a wide bead of caulking.
One of them was removed by two of us just pressing on the inside of the glass with our feet.

Must have been just the molding clips holding it in?
