Got brave, or stupid and tore dash apart on my 68 300. These are pics of the back of my wiper switch. I dont know if this is a resistor with the 2 black wires going through it or what, but looks like its burning and believe thats why my wipers keep stopping. Anybody else had this problem.

That resistor is what controls the wipers.
If it cuts out,Replace the switch.
I am assuming you have the 3 speed wipers?

As preventative maintenance, remove the windshield cowl and lube all moving parts of wiper trans and wiper pivots.
The less resistance the better the wiper motor and switch will work.

you might want to check the bulkhead connector first...corrosion there can cause them to be intermittent. The resistor actually looks fine, but thats not to say it cant be bad.

The bulkhead and terminal end are new. May try to find correct oem switch and replace it. Most all of these parts look original.

I have looked at switches online, mopar, and cant tell if that resistor is on it. Yes it is 3spd.
