Hey all, here it is, I finally got it home this evening and she is a beaut! I am very happy with her and got her at a good price too. I will be using this thread in the future to document the partial restoration of this vehicle, as you will see from the pictures, it is already in good condition over much of it. Stay tuned for more as i start to go over it tomorrow.
Nice score....welcome to the club....drop me a line when you need decals.....come spring l.Ll have Consul car to...bonus
Thanks for the offer mate, I will probably take you up on a set at a later date, The paint is so good it only needs a polish and the Strobes etc are good enough that I can get away with a white touch up pen for now. When I have cleaned up the rest of the car and got it to a standard i am happy with I will reassess the use of new stripes then. Even if I decide not to put new ones on, having a set in storage is a good idea for the future.
Lol, No, the GT is off limits, hands off! ;) But the 68 RT Charger, or the other 68 Charger will be up for grabs.
Thanks Bob, yes this is the car from Massachusetts that was posted here a couple of months back. Took me 7 weeks to get it home!
Yeah it was delivered, I used Jers' friend to do it, he had a 28 foot enclosed trailer and even then it was a tight squeeze, took him 24 hours to get it to my place. I'm glad I didn't do it.
Not really sure, it has a fair amount of rust in the lower rear quarters and while I know the guy with the title I still haven't had it transferred yet.
Very nice! Green with the white interior is a great combo. Other than the framework, it looks really nice as is. Did you get the original motor and trans with it?
Outstanding score. Where else but on this board would you ever read a statement like that. That's why I keep hanging around this board.
Yes it was an original 400 big block car, with 4bbl too. I know the guy who bought the engine and he has it in storage.
Definitely the way to go on this one Carsten, The interior is near mint and the paint is very nice with only minor blemishes. My plan is to replace the front frame as well as fix the real rails with new steel. I have a body manual for this car so i will be studying it a lot. The roof will be painted white after repairs to minor spots of rust. I am now in the market for a set of 71 Rallye road wheels for it. As if the normal style wasn't hard enough!
