A little 2015 history

Allen Johnson in the Team MOPAR Hemi Dodge Dart wins the very last 500 cubic inch carbureted NHRA Pro Stock race at Pomona, California World Finals. Moving him to 3rd in the season points standings. Way to go Allen. Next season they will have Fuel Injection, traction controll & rev limiters set for 10500.

1974 US Nationals

In 1974 Chrysler pulled out of Pro Stock racing in disgust at the weight breaks leveled against big block cars & Hemis especially. The 351 Cleveland Ford turned out to be the hot ticket. Ford racers had a good year. Here you can see Don Carlton is getting beat by a dang ole Pinto that John Lingenfelter is driving. NHRA eventually handicapped the Ford leaving the small block wedge cars an advantage. Enter Bob Gliden & the 340 Arrow

Interesting Bob they are going to limit wheelie bar length to produce wheels up launches. I don't really understand the no hood scoops, are they going to be flat hoods? Time will tell, I don't think anything will be gained by fuel injection because its throttle body not port so the intake is still wet.

I am excited in a way let's see what they got. Maybe they will run much like some of the 10.5 and KOS classes. Those are fun to watch big motor traction problems trying to get weight transfer.

Jerry Hurley

This is the former Sox & Martin Hemi Onmi that Jerry crashed badly & destroyed when he had an engine issue & got into his own oil
