Say goodbye to the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200

They are down to Formal level sales...
It's no shock that FCA wants to shift its focus to crossovers and trucks. In December 2015, for example, combined sales of the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 were 15,310.

FCA has finally realized that with the limited production capacity it has it makes more sense to build the high demand high margin vehicles like Wranglers and Rams rather then these low margin highly incentivised dogs. The 200 is a great car and is actually cheaper to buy than a Dart but it suffers from too much competition and FCA just couldnt get the word out. The Dart was a mistake from day 1. They are going to go back to the plan they had in the 90's and sell re-badged Mitsu's or god forbid Daewoos as Chryslers. This will allow them to repurpose the plants towards building what sells. Will also help keep production where it is rather than moving low margin vehicles to other jurisdictions like Mexico or Brazil. Welcome back Colt Talon Stealth!

I had to road test a Dart at my work.
It is the noisiest car I ever driven.
Road noise, tire noise, engine noise, change of pitch from concrete to asphalt, hear every bump, crack in the road.
Seats were not comfortable at all.
Just horrible,unrefined.
You have an Italian-based platform, with an optional Korean engine (Hyundai 2.4L) with an American name.

Years ago people poked fun at AMC for multiple manufacturer's parts mixed together in a vehicle that had several badges re-engineered.
They were doing it since the mid-50's
They did a better job and were ahead of their time in that regard compared to the dart of today.
The ghosts of the AMC Corp are probably laughing at Fiat right now.

They need a small SUV crossover not those ****** up little jeeps either. Shame the 200 did not make it 300 hp in a small car like that is a winning combo but you can't strip it you are stuck with 500 lbs of power seats, u connect, and god knows what else. Car still has a better power to wieght ratio than a 06 Charger R/T. The Dart would have been a great follow up to the Neon SRT4 but instead we got a German joke Caliber wtf

Those SRT Neons were Suppose to be Little Rockets i heard. Anyone ever drive one?

I never did but have seen them run low 12- high11s and they were gaining quite a following of young people and in one corporate stroke it was gone, further proof that what Daimler did to Chrysler was the same as a good ole mid evil times raping and pillaging. I hope that ******* dies a long and agonizing death on his private island.

If Fiat is following AMC's footsteps...The should bring out a modern day version of an all wheel drive STATION WAGON!!

AMC saw potential in the Jeep's when bought from Kaiser
Without Jeep,AMC would have died sooner of an ugly death.Despite the blood sucking from Renault at the end.
Chrysler also saw the cash cow in Jeep when they bought AMC. Broke ties with Renault and made good money.
Daimler-Benz bought Chrysler only for the Jeep brand. We know what happened after that.
Now Fiat wants to focus more on Jeep and Ram trucks.

I sense a re-occurring theme here..don't ya think??

Your Sense Of Emapthy, Is awe Inspiring, Dave lol.

Not much of that will sell either....

Then just like when Chrysler was using that Pitchabitchi crap, the people that don't know any better will think that junk is made by Chrysler, and that the rest of the Chrysler line is also crap. So they buy a different brand for their next car. The 3.0 liter piece of rice **** that smoked like a freight train for example.

They were half a second slower than a viper in the zero to sixty category. Most fun I have ever had in a small car and I have driven some of the fastest around. Still get them traded in now and again. Locking differential made torque steer a little hairy but next to scat pack Challenger most fun to drive modern Mopar in my books.

I know they drank oil like a sailor, but I loved my 3.0/5 speed in my 92 Daytona! It worked great in that light car and was reliable as hell. I got 30mpg all day long without taking it easy (advertised 19 hwy) and feel I could have gotten 40. It let me know when to add oil by the ticking!

Back to the raping and pillaging..

I'll stick with my '92 3.3 that is still on the road.
