Not completely original but fairly complete - no a/c - $39500.00

Reminds me of my 1960 DeSoto. Of course this one is waaaaay nicer.

Taken around 1979 with my old polaroid. That's my 79 Trail Duster, brand new when this was taken. Ahhh the good old days.
 
I let a 60 New Yorker get away as a kid... no place to keep her (18 and broke)... I really want this 300. Have wanted one for ever... 2 problems stopping me, I won't do a car loan and an Imperial would be put outdoors. Just can't do it :BangHead:
 
Too bad so many short cuts were taken in quality in doing the "restoration" of this vehicle, especially the interior. And there are still quite a few missing parts. Plus it doesn't run well. Not likely to get his price in my opinion.

Maybe it is the rear bumper added center wing (just below the license) on this black car that reminded you of your Desoto in particular, since it was only on the Desoto, not on the 300F! You should have kept that Desoto!

But that is my problem - I keep them all - at least until recently. But I still have this original 29K mile 300F. And it still looks this way today (cause I don't drive it much damn it!). I got it from the original owner because I did all the maintenance on it for him, and when he couldn't drive it anymore, some 20 years ago now, he sold it to me at a great price just because he wanted me to have it. He wouldn't let a dealer touch it after the first few years since almost none of the techs knew how to work on them. And the original owner bought two other new 300Fs when he bought this one - a black one that he drove daily, a red one that he drove to distant car meets like the old Harrah's meets in Nevada, and he put this one under a cover in his garage and drove it sparingly. And he was a car painter at a Buick dealership. He said he wouldn't paint cars for a Chrysler dealership since he wouldn't make any money doing it. But he didn't care much how well the Buicks looked when done as long as the work satisfied the customers well enough.

Damn Steve that 300 is AWESOME!!!!!! I love it! Wish I had kept that DeSoto too, but it is what it is. I bought it for $250. Put a LOT of work into it and some guy wanted it so bad he gave me $1800 for it. We're talking 1979-80 money here. So that was a pretty good profit. What could I do, I was only 21 at the time and I had other cars on my brain hahahaha... still wish I kept it though. My dream car was always a 300F and this DeSoto was as close as I could get at the time.

Wow that one sure jumps off the screen...looks to be top notch. Those are great looking cars and this has to be one of the best examples of the breed.

You didn't by chance drive that car to Michigan in 2012 for the memorial for the 300 Club president did you?

I was in a gas station in Coldwater when a white 61 and a black 62 rolled in on their way to the man's farm.

The white one had a CA tag on it but it wasn't a black tag. Kind of amber with dark blue numbers.

I think the 62 drove down from WI.

Very nice folks that invited me to the gathering but as luck would have it I was on a mission and couldn't take the time.

The car is in running and driveable condition. I have owned this car since 1978. I am the third owner of the car. Comes with alot of hard to find parts and a couple of engines for full price offer.
It was originally purchased in Vancouver Washington. The car is a one of a kind. I hate to sell it but need money for a down payment for a house. I have a video of car running upon request

shipping and arraignments are at buyers expense. half cost of winning bid due 24 hrs after auction ends and balance due before shipping.

can deliver for a fee with in 1000 miles of portland, oregon

This car has only been out of California a couple times when it was substituted for his red 300F that usually went on his yearly trip to the Harrah's meet in Nevada each year back then. He and his wife cruised out there to that meet in air conditioned luxury. After I bought it from him, I took the both of them to a bunch of meets before he and his wife passed, since he couldn't drive anymore. Many memories. I really don't know what it is worth, as I have never thought about selling it.

A nice 60 New Yorker coupe is harder to find than a 300F. They seem to be non-existent and very high priced, and they get the $$. Even a 60 New Yorker wagon is easier to find.

Steve: I may be wrong, but I don't think the 413 with rams was an available option on a '60 New Yorker. Do you know ?

What about 61 New Yorkers, Steve? A junkyard i went to as a Kid had a 61 New Yorker convertible. I think they only made 500 or so.

No, they were not an option in a New Yorker, and were available only on the 300F in the Chrysler line. But the ram induction engine was available in various Plymouth and Dodge models.
