Ran when parked How bad could it be then!
Good eye Martin!

Tilt telescopic steering...bet this things loaded

Loaded at least with power windows, power bench seat, rimblow, AC.
What else, dual exhaust?

California blue plate car. Possibly been in CA whole its life. Does not look like a diamond, but thanks to the dry weather of Southern CA maybe a diamond in rough :D

Obviously it's a 70. Since they didn't make any after 71. She looks rough but I would look its alot better than the one in Minnesota. I bet the body is pretty solid on this one even if the Top is Shot. Too bad it cost over $1,000 to ship it here or I would be all over it.

Damn this auto typing on my phone makes me sound "special" in that post! But you get the idea. Guess you have to type on these things and not talk!!

Now who said it's a California car so not much rust. Look at this 73 Buick with original CA blue plates.

I really doubt that Buick got that kind of rust in California unless it lived right on the beach forever, and then only maybe.

Since I don't live all that far from San Diego, I called the guy about the convertible. He confirmed after looking around it while talking with me that there was nothing but surface rust on the car in only a few places. He said he was driving it until 3 years ago when it lost a freeze plug. And since he was 81 then, he didn't feel like pulling the starter to get to it, so he left the car sitting in the back yard. It was running fine up to then he said. Now at 84 he just wanted to sell it. It had not been covered for much of those three years since the tarp that was on it eventually rotted away. Although the dash looked crack free, it did have a couple small ones by the radio speaker, which is not uncommon. When I called, he was going to show the car to a guy that would be there in about 30 minutes with cash in hand and he would give him first shot at it. I asked him to let me know what happened and if he didn't buy it, I would consider it. He called me back in about 40 minutes, and said the guy came by and looked at it a couple minutes and bought it on the spot. Gone.

maybe Steve has still contact info to the owner so you could get a pic of the fender tag?

Is that a Californian thing ?
