1959 Dodge Coronet

First I backed the car out of the driveway and the car was making strange noises and so was the steering. In the driveway was liquid; I assume it was steering fluid?
Also, the fuel gauge has never worked since I got the car. I got some sort of part that might fix the problem (I was told) but the whole gas tank might have to be removed.
I would like to entertain the idea of getting power steering installed.
Also, a previous mechanic broke the trunk lock, so there is a whole where the key should be. I need someone to find the whole mechanism including the lock and a key.

Does the car have power steering now? If it does it might be a broken or cracked hose. The part you are talking about for the fuel gauge to work should be the sending unit which goes in the tank. That is assuming that the fuel gauge is good. There are several venders that sell parts for 1959 Dodges. Look on the internet and do some searching.
