hi looking for some help broke down come home on a truck, problem im getting one spark then none wont start ,just had new ignition module, new reluctor and pickup coil, new coil, new rotor and cap, still wont start ,just tested regulator with meter getting no reading on that but will that stop it from starting, any help please dave in uk

Check for at least 10.5 volts on the plus side of the coil, while cranking the starter. If not you may have a faulty ignition switch.

Check for power ballast resistor. As always - check power throughout the circuit, check for power at the start relay. Check

If the new parts were installed prior to the car stopping dead on the road, you probably have a defective part in the new stuff. Most likely a bad pickup module. If you replaced all this stuff after the car quit, check the clearance on the pickup coil using a non-metallic gauge. As noted above you need proper voltage to get the ignition to fire. Check the voltage going in to the ballast resistor and out of the ballast resistor. If you have good voltage going in/out, check the coil by removing the negative lead from the coil. Remove the coil lead from the distributor and place it 1/4" from a good ground. Turn on the ignition switch and use a set of jumper clips to ground out the negative side of the coil, it should spark each time you touch the ground clip to a good ground and remove the clip from a good ground. If you have good voltage to the primary side of the coil and it won't spark using the above test, the coil is bad. If the coil sparks, you may have a problem inside of the distributor. Check the distributor bearings for excessive wear as this will effect the clearance on the pickup module.

Your post does not specify if you are repairing the factory unit or an after market unit. The factory units have a electronic "brain" or ECU. This unit is usually mounted on the firewall or on the core support. If you have tested everything else, the ECU has most likely failed and you will need to get the part number and order a new unit. Check the ground on the ECU as it will not work unless properly grounded. Remove the cable connector from the ECU and check the terminals for corrosion and clean as necessary.

Does it try to run when you let off the key? Ign switch can go bad in either the start or run position. If bad in the start position it won't fire until you let it go back to the run position and then it might try to sputter. It can go bad the other way around as well. You don't list ballast resistor in the new parts, if you didn't try a new one you should.
