Aftermarket rims and tyres for 67 Plymouth fury

Gents what rims and tyre sizes would you recommend as replacement for the standard one without it affecting the ride too much and putting undue strain on other parts of the suspension.
I do realize you would lose in some areas but what are the pros and cons.

On my 68 Fury I put 7x17 front and 8x17 rear American racing Torque thrust, need to run with out the fender skirts for this on the rear and if I recall it was 4.5" backspace all round. Tyres-225/55 up front and 245/55 rear

What tires did you mount on those? I'm in the same boat and anything performance I only find in 245/45/17

I'm sure they are Nexus, remember I'm in the UK as well, I'm sure you should be able to find something
