Yea I guess your right, I've been down in the snow free zone for too long.
But not much cow farming (ranching) in Iowa? They need tending everyday.
Not everyone has cows. Dairy farmers usually have the least amount of time. Cattle or feed lots take a little less time. Corn farmers, unless they are hauling corn have some down time in the winter.
This guy found enough time to buy them, but seemed to run out of time to put them into top shape.
