Five-spoke American Racing 17″ wheels are mounted with 215/55 Mastercraft MC-440 tires up front and 235/55 Pantera Touring CUV A/S tires.

Backspacing not listed. Nor is rim width, but tire size max recommended rim width is ~8.5 inches - eyeballin' these suggests at least 7 inches.

1968 Newport. (sorry - might be here, however, as Cragar S/S's are an old school staple that comes up a lot).

Only spec disclosed was 235/70-15's all around, eye-ballin 'em look like standard offset (~4.0 inches), and 7 inch width. If so, all should be fine with that combo in my experience.

Those rear wheels have the appearance of the 15x8 Ramcharger wheels, which have 4" BS.
agree, thats how it looks.

much deeper (more backspacing than that) my experience with that tire size in back you'll get interference. directly or if not by body roll.

maybe owner (@ATw) will see this and report the real deal.

I am not on Faceplant, so if anybobdy can see the exact wheel size, please post it here?

It does say they are 20 inch diameter, and most examples of that size, with a bolt pattern that could fit, would be 8 inches/9 inches width.

They certainly made wider wheels in the 20 inch diameter, but I see wider than 9 inch being a challenge, Could be why no skirts on (I assume it has skirts because I see that fender wheel well trim).

The backspacing (without mods to the car) in the rear, to clear the quarters on THIS car, has to be around five inches (eyballin' it). More than that (i.e., more positive), that pushes the wheel toward suspension.

Further, IF 8-9 inches or wider, the backspacing would have to be around 5 inches lest that is a weak wheel structure (AR probably wouldnt offer such a wheel spec).

I am ready to pull the trigger on some Magnum 500s. 15x7 5/4.5 pattern…. Would 4” backspacing work? I see most are 4.25”, but I found some 4” at a way better price.

My opinion is you should have no problem.

Recommend you keep tire section width 9.0 to 10 inches, tire diameter 26-28 inch range. example 225/70, 235/70 give nice sporty stance from all angles and would go well with 15x7 wheels.

Last, before you commit, do your "rear" measurements (skirts on, IF you have skirts) to confirm and YOUR car. I have seen identical setups work on identical model/year car, yet fail on one of them.

Again, I predict your plan will be fine. Urge measurement anyway, respectfully, to save aggravation and money..

Good luck!

As always @amazinblue82 thank you for your advice. I continued down the wheel rabbit hole and am seeing there may be an issue with many of the aftermarket 15x7 magnum 500 wheels hitting the rather large budd disc brake calipers I have on my ‘68 300. Anybody out there have success with this.

The ones that caught my attention are the American Racing mag 500 because of the price, but seems like a lot of folks go with Wheels Vintique (which are about $100 more per wheel).

Wheels Vintiques: 15x7 Magnum 500 | 5x4.5" bolt | 4.25" backspace

I have four Mopars with "Magnums" (my 67 300 has budd discs I think and have Magums on it, but do not remember the brand(s).

I like American Racing brands/styles, I will check next time at my warehouse, but sorry just cannot recall the brands this moment.

I have never known any Mopar OE caliper (even Budd) '67 to 90),to be be incompatible with Magnums, BUT that does NOT mean there couldn't be fitment issues I havent been unluckyy enough to encounter all these years

I DO know certain aftermarket wheels sometimes interfere with mounting surfaces (usually hub-centricity), but have NOT experienced it on any of my Mopars.

Hope somebody here who knows magnums really well, BY BRAND, will weigh in and help some of us out.

All the best.

Yep…. That was the post I found that got me doubting this option (post #6). I have decent wheel covers on mine right now (1970 300 covers-since they came in 15”). I might spend some time reconditioning those instead of going with the Mag 500s.

I’d even be open to mag 500 looking wheel covers.
