What´s wrong when the alternator regulator burns the tread.

New alternator new regulator and what´s happen is charge way to much or not at all?

Please give some advice!

hi there,
not sure if you had a mis-spelling there but not sure what the "tread" is..

What siaze of Alternator did you go with? this will determine if you need to run new wiring as well if it is a high output unit..

I would trace the wiring and look for any grounding of the wiring.

A FSM really helps to trace the wires

Powermaster 7019, 75 amp

The old one quite, in the regulator it´s 2 fine thin (ís it copper?)wire, one was burnt.
Bought the powermasyter and new regulator, same story. Burnt off the Cable.

Now charging absolute max, my amp meter is max.
What´s FSM?

What type of voltage regulator are you using? The stock points style or a newer electronic one?

(FSM = Factory Service Manual)

Sounds like you have a short in the wiring or it's just wired wrong.

Ground problem was one problem and tuning regulator the other.

Just checking, you are aware that you can get an electronic voltage regulator in side the shell of the old points one? Works way better and nobody can tell the difference from outside. If you're unaware, post back and we'll give you more info.
