Any body ever fix the studs on a quarter panel extension? My 72 Fury has one that is damaged, but every one i have found has broken suds. They appear to have been cast into the die ca

st when they were molded.

Well, if nobody has tried to fix them, maybe someone can share the secret to removing them without braking the studs off. I have broken studs off on 2 that i have tried to remove.

I was hoping that someone has repaired these studs.... I haven't done one, I've managed to find good replacements.

If I were to do it, I would file the stud down flat, drill and tap for another stud. Probably a 10-24 or 10-32 thread to replace a 3/16" stud. Then use a nut and washer to fasten.

You'd want to block the extension up so it's square, clamp it, and use a drill press to get the hole straight.

Thanks John. Kinda what i was thinkin, but hoped someone else had already done it to prove it was doable. May have to bite the bullet n give it a try.
