Steering column upgrade

I have a '66 Fury and I understand that this is the last year of the non-collapsing steering column. I'd like to swap in a safer column. Will later model columns swap in? If so, which ones? The car is an old race car and far from original, do I'm flexible

In other words,how about a 68 Fury column? Something like that?

The mounting surfaces and bases are different between 66 & 67. Also the tilt-o-scope wirings are different for those years. The 66 has a flat plate that the column support bolts onto. 67 and up have plastic plugs on the column support and the holes are in different locations. I think there is also a difference in the number of holes. They say nothing is impossible if you have enough money.
