My '67 VIP has a smog-era 400 in it with a Stromberg 2bbl. I rebuilt it and got the choke working. Car starts on the button and runs fantastic. The ONLY exception is WOT from a dig. The car dies when you floor it. Immediately I'm thinking that the accelerator pump isn't working or the squirters are clogged.

Then I found a post in this thread:
Stromberg Carb Swap

With this:

And I'm wondering if I just have the wrong accelerator pump assembly in my carb.

Mine is technically a Stromberg WWC 3-276. This is the kit I got, which specifically lists the 3-276 model number:
Stromberg WWC Carburetor Rebuild Kit (4090A) - Dodge 1960-67, Desoto 1961

However that carb number is listed for the following applications:
Chrysler (8) 1961-67 361", 383"
Desoto (8) 1961 361"
Dodge (8) 1960-67 361", 383"
Plymouth (8) 1965-67 361", 383"

Not sure what it's doing on a 73-78 400 engine.

Any way to determine which one I need? Or could it be something else entirely?

I've never seen a rebuild kit that had the correct pump for my Mopar Stromberg. They all came with what looks like the GM Stromberg pump.

Thing is, my Stromberg has a square post accelerator pump rod. The lengths of those seem to be specific relative to the bore size. I.E. only one specific length...

Is there a position or adjustment on the carb itself?

*edit*
The tuning instructions talk about bending the pump actuator rod. I'm wondering if I can tweak it there or put it in a different slot to get a better pump shot.

Anyone have any experience tuning one of these old Strombergs?
