Well here are a couple of pictures of where the car stands today. Looks more like the donor car at this point than the one being saved.

so far the only repairs that have been made are the dutchman panel and the two areas where the quater panel extensions mount onto. they were swiss cheese.

Its been a long time in-between updates but here are couple of pictures of the car coming back to life. Donor trunk floor and drop downs from Washington State car installed and, although many won't be happy, repro quarter panels installed. *** end has had as much rot as possible removed. Having the lip that goes around the trunk opening removed and replaced with the lip from the Washington donor. After that its the trunk lid and the doors from the donor.

a lot more work was done but these pictures show some real progress. The dutchman panel was done and right where the quarter panel extensions attach were rotted so they were fabricated. Also the frame right by the door and the quarter panel had some work done. As long as its back by May just in time for the season I will be happy.

Also work done to the wheel wells, tops, inner and outer and the drivers side trunk hinge bracket was replaced.

so since I have come this far with it I guess I should also get the proper antenna for the car since the other one was shot. Anybody know if the ones on ebay are any good?

I'm in shock of what I have paid thus far in repairs, $200 for a antenna is tough to think about right now.

If the car is gonna be all purdy and such, a shiney new antenna would be worth it. You'd just be upset looking at a used antenna sitting on that nice paint.

Getting ready for primer and then filler work. Leaning toward B3 for color when ready for paintinig.

Congrats on the progress! Your car, your choice. I like EB3 too, and it will go well with your blue interior.

This said... DL27L0D210381 is the only EA4 1970 Polara 'vert that AFAIK is still on the road (the other EA4 ragtop is DL27L0D137069 which, according to @polara71's 2008 spreadsheet, it has been repainted yellow). You may look at @Dga26 's EA4 SFGT to see how good that car looks after the original-color repaint.

I definitely need to get a new antenna, $200 for NOS is just a rough thought at the moment. The one that was on the car had a spring and was able to rotate forward and backwards but the one I was directed to on ebay seems like it was solid with no swivel points, which is the proper one?

I remember looking into this when I first posted my cars tag, unfortunately I am just not a fan. To be happy with it all, especially when I get a new antenna (lol), I think it will end up being B3.

That ebay antenna would be correct, the spring ones are aftermarket. You could also convert to a power unit, but those have the odd characteristic of not retracting all the way to appear broken.

Thanks for the input. Going to pass on the power antenna.

The factory antenna in 69 can be unthreaded at the base and removed (like to put a car cover on). The antenna is also telescoping.

Thanks, i think\(hope) I found something on ebay other than the NOS part.

Is there a place to get door handles and locks so that everything is new or will I be trying to shine up the parts I have best I can? In an effort to save money I may be reassembling the interior parts of the car myself (the doors mechanics\carpet\seats\convertible hydraulics ect). At least I will be able to say I was hands on for part of it.
