The crappy years? There were some cool Mopar cars from 1975-1991 (pre-viper), so list 'em!

Thanks Marko. I didn't know that but maybe I can fix those things on the 83 imperial. Last of the true Imperials was 1975. I guess all Imperials from 1970-1975 were cool. New Yorkers were OK too but not as well equipped. Car reminds me of what the mafia was mostly driving in Cleveland when I was a kid in late 70's. I miss the interiors. Wild colors and ultra plush...but I guess everyone today wants Sporty.....Everything has to be Sporty today!...rather than Luxury.

frank sinatra imps were made in 81 & 82.
there were 168 in 81 ( 21 canadian market & 147 american market)
348 for 82 43 cdn and 305 us

Did someone come up with a fix for the fuel injection problems for those Imp's? I believe the dealers were replacing the FI units with carbs back in the day under warranty.

I don't know why the 1978 Magnum GT didn't become a collectors item (last B body). Only year for 400 cubic inch. Only 190hp but 305 torque. Looks like a really fun car. Anyone remember Car Crafts Magnum published in 1979?

Anyone know why Chrysler brought back the Chrysler 300 for 1979? I mean "300" was supposed to be at least 300hp. This car had 195hp. Well I guess the T-tops makes it a deserving car to be listed?

I was driving around Dallas, Tx in 1980 hoping to find a Magnum GT. Instead, I ran across a brand new 1979 "Chrysler 300" (yes, I know it's a Cordoba) and was intrigued enough to purchase it after a short test drive. It is currently covered up in my garage. The picture below will have to do, but mine has the two spoke steering wheel and tilt column. I still think it's a cool car.

Sure is a lot of brothel red landscape / interior though. What were they thinking?

The other cool car I had from the stated year range was a 1984 Dodge Shelby Charger. It handled quite well. Mine was silver and blue like the one below (not mine):

Definitely like those 80's Imperials, but glad I didn't trade in my '79 300 for one. I almost did until I saw the boring instrument panel and the 318 under the hood.

1991-92 dodge stealth r/t turbo. How much of this car was really Dodge? Did Dodge design it? I thought this car would really appreciate in value....still waiting. 300hp. 0-60 in 5.2 sec. (Cool looking car but I think the Mitsubushi 3000 looks a little better).

Heres a really weird one but I would love to get one. Brazil's 1972-1978 Dodge Charger. Does it look familiar? There are ones for sale, but all in South America. Yeah, like what are the odds of going down there and driving it back to the USA without getting shot... or drugs stuffed somewhere only that border patrol could find it?

Dodge's Street Van Series. 1976-1981 (Called Dodge Adult Toy Vans). Could be ordered thru dealerships with every wacky type of options. Sure, the 1980's had its 2 recessions 80-83, 89-90, threat of commies, and more city violence than today but some people think it was the best time in human history to be alive.

Where are these custom vans? I see a bunch that were customized by its owner but none from the factory. I was a just a little kid but they were awesome..and so were fashions....no butt ugly tattoos, weirdo piercings and women tried to dress up and look good.

I forgot about the "grey" imports. Dodge Colts GT turbos are pretty rare from 1984-1990 are 0-60 in 8.1 sec 16.4 in qtr mi. 20/24 MPG. Safety was 1 star in crash protection which is why wearing a helmet was mandatory driving those (as in picture).

I also love the looks of the Dodge Conquests. The rare 1988 TSI versions is 0-60 6.8 qtr mi 15.8 which is pretty good, great back then. 16/20 MPG. I heard they weren't made very well, and many kids did this to it (see vid)

1987-1995 Dodge 350 Goldstream Islander RV. Every Islander was on a Dodge frame. Its considered the best class B RV of the 1980's, highly sought after by nostalgia RVer's and therefore kept its value. Main advantages are 1) unlike most van RV's, this is a Wide Body 2) Bed is above out of the way and has the most headspace of comparible RV's. 3)The stinky pooper and shower is in the rear near back door where it should be. 4) Durable 360 with best fuel mileage of comparible RV's at 14/18. 5) Durable and quality craftmanship.

1976-1980 Chrysler ETV-1 with GE and money from the Dept of energy (your taxes). It was a 400 amp electric vehicle prototype with something new called "regenerative braking". However with gas prices going down, it never made it to manufacturing. ***With 4 passengers*** Top speed was 65mph, 0-30 in 9 seconds (yikes) and range was about 60 miles in real world driving with 4 passengers, (although their goal was 75). Most were crushed but this one went up for sale on Ebay in 2014 in need of complete restoration. I think it sold for around $5000.

Much of the special alloys and battery tests info Chrysler found ended up in GM's EV1 in the 1990's...and then Telsa's cars.

1983 Chrysler Lebaron Town and Country Turbo Convertable might be a collectable? Sure it made you look like you were driving in a wooden crate, but the government had strict roll over laws after 1968 and by 1975, all american car companies ceased building convertables. In 1982, Chrysler was the first car company with the balls to say screw you to the govt and said it would be able to pass the difficult roll over and safety regulations...but I don't think it did. Govt sued Chrysler but by the time it came to court years later, all car companies were making convertables again.

If we're talking "malaise era" Mopar....Cordoba must be up there at the top of the list.

Anyone alive when they first came out will remember that they were a total block buster. The Small Chrysler.

There are many more that I have a soft spot for, and needless to say, all Formals. These designs were timeless in my opinion.

I mean, some of the most serious looking police cars of all time come to mind...Formal Monaco/ Gran Fury, M body Diplomat Gran Fury, B body Monaco Fury, R body. I even snagged a pic with an R & a B body. These prowled the streets of my youth and had a look that was "all business".
