What cars will interchange with sheet metal and frame rails, K-member interchange. Working with a 71 Chrysler 300 2 dr and want to know what I can use for donor parts. Will 4 doors work?

Thnks,

The k frame is a part of the "Stub" frame on C body cars, the whole frame comes out with 6 bolts, after you take the entire front end of the car off. The Fuselage guys will chime in soon.

ANYONE WHO HAS EVER CHANGED OUT A "STUB FRAME" WILL NEVER CONFUSE IT WITH A "K" FRAME.
Okay, sorry about that. Never took apart a C-body suspension apart yet. I am used to A and B body cars. What years will stub frame interchange with a 71 Chrysler? Also, what year rails will interchange with 71?

No worries, it's just a little different. I have a 67 Dart and I hope I can drop it over the engine/trans/suspension combo on the K frame.

I think 69-73 for the stub frame interchange. For the rails, I assume you mean the rear frame rails, I haven't a clue. I'd like to know as much as you. This is how we keep these cars alive.

Yes, I need replacement metal floors and frame rails from the fenders all the way back to the trunk. Need all the floor pans and trunk pan. The car is a 71 Chrysler and what can I use that will interchange?

In short there are two different stub frames (69-73)
Isolated and non isolated body mounts.
I have also seen two different lengths, not sure if it is related to the isolated body mounts.

Sheet metal, exterior will be from a 69-73 Chrysler (maybe, Chrysler people may chime in)
Floor pans and trunk pan, any 69-73 C-Body should work, there is a difference in length with the filler in the back seat foot well, but otherwise should work.

Can you explain the isolated and non isolated body mounts? How do you tell what you have? Rubber isolated? So any Chrysler from 69 to 73 I can use qtrs. and floor pans?

Only Chrysler 1/4s from '69-'71, and without any minor welding (to account for the difference in marker lenses), only '70-'71.

So the body lines changed in 72?

The isolated bod mounts are rubber between the body and the frame, otherwise it is metal on metal.

the rear foot wells in a chrysler are a few inches ( 4" maybe, can't remember for sure) longer than others.

I also have rails and a stub that would work in your '71 project. PM if you are interested.

i've got this sheet metal (hood , fender , core support , inner fenders , bumper with brackets , ect...

. here in california . its off a 70 new yorker .

Everybody needs to be clear, there are two topics here
1. Stub Frames
2. Quarter Panels and other sheet metal

Quarter Panels, 69-71 Chrysler, you may need to cut in different marker lights. 72 will not work as the body lines are different.
Floor Pans 69-73 C-Body, if the rear foot well is needed then in must be a Chrysler otherwise any 69-73 C-Body

Stub frames, someone else can clarify
