Up for sale is my 1974 Chrysler Newport 4 door sedan. This big block powered beauty has only 21,100 documented miles!!!! It even comes complete with 1974 sales brochure, owner's manual, 3 factory build sheets and an assembly line checklist, all of which were found underneath the seats. It rolled down the Jefferson Assembly Plant on November 13th, 1973 during the second shift. I have personally driven this car well over a thousand miles in the past month (drove to Ohio and back a few times with no issues), but recently purchased another vehicle to serve as my daily driver going in to winter. Some more details about this unique classic Mopar include:

- 6.6L 400ci V8 Big Block
- 3 speed TorqueFlite automatic
- Newer parts include: tune up parts (cap, rotor, plugs, wires), in line fuel filter and fuel hose, carburetor rebuild (previous owner), new windshield wiper refills, tires have about 1500 miles on them
- 6 passenger, full bench seats. Interior is perfect!
- Factory A/C car, currently does not work. Heat works amazing
- Fender mounted turn signal indicators still work!
- Power steering and power brakes
- AM radio (works) with an Audiovox FM converter mounted under the dash. FM converter not hooked up
- 25 gallon fuel tank
- Gauges all work, along with all interior lights and exterior lights
- Original 1970s Ohio State Inspection sticker in the windshield
- Original Goodyear full size spare tire and jack in the trunk, along with trunk mat
- Seems to have been spray rust proofed back in the 70s, see the firewall and internal trunk areas
- Period correct Disneyland sticker in the rear window, and 2 original AAA stickers on the bumper
- 2 sets of keys

This Newport is definitely a survivor. I bought it from a friend in Ohio to add to my collection as well as drive it, but with winter approaching I don't have the heart to drive this in the snow and salt. Along with the fact I do not have a place to store it. Being a 44 year old car, it is not perfect. I have been driving it daily to and from work. There are a few minor dents and scratches (hood, see picture) and the trunk was broken in to years ago. However, I do have a perfect, rust free trunk lid that goes with the car, just needs painted to match. It is also slightly cold blooded in the winter mornings, I do let it warm up for a few minutes before driving it. I think the electric choke may not be working right. It'll stumble if you don't let it warm up after sitting all night in the cold. Once warmed up, it runs like a champ! I do drive it daily as stated earlier. I am selling the 1974 Chrysler Newport AS-IS, with no warranty stated or implied. The vehicle is 44 years old, however, it operates exactly as it should and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere. Asking $2900 or best reasonable offer.

Trunk looks scummy too.

The hood and header looks quite beat up.

I'm thinking 121,000 miles until an eyeball inspection can confirm 21,000.

The interior looks pretty nice for 121000, a different angle photo would be needed to see if there is wear on seat back and bottom when you slide in and out of car. I don't see any rust other than a spot on trunk lid where paint is chipped. I think its original.

I don't think so.....

This car has been painted. The fender tag code says V5X which is a vinyl top. I'm either blind or I can't see the vinyl.....looks like paint to me. Chrysler didn't paint roofs that had vinyl tops. Plus the C-Pillar medallions are missing and a bunch of chrome trim is missing.

Isn't V5X black body side moldings?

V1X would be black vinyl top.

Is that Ethanol Gas he is pumping it full of? Up here Green Pump is Ethanol Blend....

V5X are black vinyl side mouldings only available on Newport's and Newport Custom but those are missing too.

V1X is black vinyl to but wasn't available with this KY4 paint color.

I thought that too until the last 6 months. I've gone on a few daytrips to neighboring states and have seen the green handle signify high-ethanol gas, while around here it is for high-sulphur diesel.
Very confusing, and they weren't very well marked.
Embarassing to hafta ask a local at the pump which one you need to use.

Dang, magnifying it I do see the black side mouldings.

Like I said in my first post, someone needs to put eyeballs on this car to see the true condition of this car. If it is 21k miles then it appears to be an excellent buy. Either way this car is a turnkey daily driver at a minimum. It's a sedan, manual A/C, no vinyl, 400 2 bbl, so you could easily drive this car another 30 years.

Or until the windshield wipers fall off, whichever comes first. :D

Perhaps it's the focus, but this area looks like 122k miles of smearing in/out of the car. I would expect 21k to be near-perfect. A closeup of the gauges/cluster would be a good indicator, 100k+ gauges don't hold that crispness.
