I tried seal beams on mine brand new ones right out of the box and they're still dim. I like to drive evening and when it's dark I just wanted something better. I guess it's the result of driving new cars all these years
Hella housings makes a nice replacement that fit very well and comes w halogen bulbs, it was a big improvement. I did install relays, fuses and new wiring but they work well so far

Yes that one was bad in my connector but some others were too. I agree w you, if the connection is new and tight w some conductive lube it should be fine.
I installed a painless kit on my 66 polara, not sure if I would do it again. Not that the product wasn't good, but you are now taking the wiring diagram from your service manual and throwing it away. If I was to do it again I'd probably just replace the old wiring with new same color and size...
I have the same car, got carpet but asked for the it not to be trimmed before shipping so there was some extra. Fit fine just some wrinkling over the driveshaft hump. I think it was ACC I can check my receipts if u want let me know
