    1972 Imperial Data plate Help

Its common that owners are curious about such things but...given that the car has an October scheduled date meaning there were at least eight months left in the production year and given that cars were not built in any sequential or chronological order and given that Imperials are hard to...

NOT MINE 1966 Dodge Polara Convertible 383 Houston TX $10.5k

Z/8 and AA1 does indicate Silver and buffed paint so either there's been a repaint or the tags have been moved to a new body. SPD and VIN match well. For MY 1966, Belvidere plant seems to have been a slow roll out.

    The correct color

Since both the turquoise K code E85 350 horse and the L code orange E86 375 horse were available in a Sport Fury and you are making it up anyway, you may as well go with orange. The VIN or fender tag won't match so you can argue for the orange and be correct.

    BUILD DATE FROM FENDER TAG

The short answer is no. The SCHEDULED Production Date (SPD) is an administrative function generally unrelated to actual assembly. For a variety of reasons, cars were built well before and after the SPD. We can document this. The SPD is unreliable when it comes to assembly.

    440 identification inquiry

IF it is even stamped, a '68 VIN will be on the back of the block by the oil sending unit. 69 and later will be on a pad on the passenger's side of the block. A partial VIN can narrow down what the engine came out of as we know what plants built what cars for each model year. After that, if...

Anyone Know Any Details About This Terrible Tragedy?

Given the liability of selling a car that could have received structural damage and become a legal safety problem or ongoing warranty issue, it was probably smarter and safer to just salvage them, collect the insurance and build a new car. This is a good example as to why the 'built' and 'sold'...

NOT MINE 1969 Dodge Polara Facebook MP (Montrose, Mo)

Here's something I found... There is a name change to A48 sometime in late August of 1968. Here are two different invoices from the same car plus an invoice from a different car. The 8/16 invoice lists A48 as PROTECTION GROUP The 9/4 and 10/28 invoices lists A48 as POLARA DECOR GROUP...

    Fender Data Plate Help

SO is all one number. Its administrative purpose and application can vary by year making it hard to use sweeping generalizations prior to 1968. It is unrelated to actual assembly. In some years, the SO number generally designates a make and body line (A/B/C) pricing hierarchy within the...
