I went to Bonaroo this year and got plenty of both. Suffice it to say I was glad to have ATs on my Newport and avoided the $300 they were charging anyone who got stuck. I'll bring a bit less gear to Carlisle though to leave space to bring stuff home.
Generators aren't my favorite but I figure if I can camp at a music festival I ought to be able to deal with some RVs. It sounds like it isn't against the rules at least so I should be fine. Worst case I can always find a nice illegal camping spot.
I've never been but plan on going this year. Any tips for camping on site? We plan on bringing my Newport and tent camping assuming that is allowed. Back seat will be out to make space for buying more dumb stuff.
Its a 66 Newport. I replaced everything you listed. The torsion bars and sway bars are whatever the largest option Firm Feel offers. Honestly my only complaint is that I couldn't get even larger bars. The rear is noticeably stiffer than the front. I did ask for my rears to be "extra heavy duty"...
My 66 has a bit over 250k on it and the transmission leaks out of all the places you've ever heard of one leaking. I keep a case in the trunk of ATF4 and whenever it "falls out of gear" I add a quart. Ive been doing this for the last 60k miles or so and it seems to happily climb mountains like...
Mine was also my first car ...in 2013.
I don't have the time or space to give it the restoration it need yet but I keep it inside now and am able to keep it in road trip ready condition. I just got back from a Christmas trip it would have gone on if the heater was currently installed...

The handling is wildly better than I ever imagined the car would be able to do. I'd hesitate to say it drives like a modern car but the body doesn't roll, it doesn't bounce all over the road, and I haven't found a speed yet where it'll start making the tires scream on corners.
I used to easily...
Just let your exhaust leak more like mine (So you can't hear the bad sounds) and don't be afraid of blowing it up. I've been abusing mine for over a decade now and still drove it across the country and back last month. Other than brushing 240 degrees while stuck in traffic it did great.
I cant speak to his 440 but on my 383 the tach and Fitech ECU agree with each other. I also can't promise that mine has never got a set of springs put in it. I got it with 162k on it. You lose compression and things start making really bad sounds a little past 7k.
I have a stock 1966 383 with just under 250k on it, a stock 7727, and 2.76 gears. I'm running a 225/75r15 tire. Its been a little while since I've done this but you can stay in 1st till 65 and 2nd till 115 before valves start making bad noises. If I remember correctly that's around 6,500rpm.

I think this is the real difference. I can't say I've ever read an article relevant to my car in a magazine. Anything I've looked at is online where I can have a conversation with the person who did it. Of course it'll take longer than "shop time" in a garage without having done it 35 times...
Maybe its a generational difference but nobody is "hiding" the hard parts now. While I hate the "short form" content cycle that is popular now the most important thing for a creator to do is generate more content. They happily show you their mistakes, their cobbled solutions, every broken bolt...
I actually hadn't considered the AT tires I chose (Falken AT3W) for sidewall strength, though they seem to be perfect. They re the first tires I've had where I can run "normal" pressures without people stopping me to say I have a flat...
I wanted the traction because my C body ends up in...
