As per my previous post it only applies to 75 - 78 C bodies so if you have never unbolted the springs on one of those models then you haven't needed the tool. If you have a workshop manual you can verify it yourself.... not sure why there are so many disbelievers on this forum who think they...
I will post some photos and then it will be clear that it can't be done without a tool to spread the spring as it is under tension so if any bolts are just done without the tool it will violently spring back under load.

Yes it looks straightforward but the book warns to never do it without using this tool so i need some feedback from someone who has actually done this job and can advise exactly how to do it safely.
