    1965 Windsor Custom

Thanks! I never considered myself much of a body guy but I finally spent some dough on quality tools and it made all the difference. Very sad to see Heavy Metal close down for sure, I did a last walk trough for any parts but none were any better than what I have. Still need some better bumpers...

    1965 Windsor Custom

More progress! I completed block sanding of the front fender and rear quarter and also painted the side. Almost all the trim back on. I'm lucky enough to have a great bodyshop supply store nearby who mixed me up some single stage that came out extremely close to the existing color. They were...

Thanks. Engine bay just takes elbowgrease. Needs another pressurewash from all the antifreeze that seeps out of every hole. Furyus 67, I'm digging your project as well!

Okay! Some more progress. I've got an adjustable proportional valve bolted right in place of the original, new brake lines bent up and bled. Also found a rebuilt TRW pump with brackets and pulley from a local mopar guru to replace my worn out Thompson which is impossible to find. Next up is the...

    Flaming River U-joint Coupler Issues

The new U-joint slides right on and off the steering box splines. I'm not sure what the difference is as my old ujoint is too messed up to measure. I assume the 1755 is slightly larger than 5/8". Thanks everyone for your help in this thread. Hopefully this helps others avoid the headache i went...

    Flaming River U-joint Coupler Issues

I just noticed, I think I have the wrong u-joint. I have an FR1722DD 5/8"x36. I'm not sure what's different exactly between the two but Flaming River definitely calls for the FR1755 for Chryslers. I'll order one up and post the differences here.

    Flaming River U-joint Coupler Issues

Thanks! That looks like what I'm after. When I realized the factory biscuit was worn out last year I picked up two of these rag joints I found in the help section at the parts store. It took two to make up the thickness of the biscuit and it all went well until one of the bolts rattled out and...

    Flaming River U-joint Coupler Issues

Can you post a picture of your setup? I'm also wondering if you had any issues being that the oem setup is designed to extend and retract. Thanks!

Well I managed enough time to head out to the garage today. I really wanted to hang the fender and since the entire side of the car is being painted it made sense. I used a Wurth rust primer on the backside (not that it needed any rust specific paint but I had it at my shop), stopped off at home...

    Flaming River U-joint Coupler Issues

Thanks for the replies. On closer inspection it appears the splines on the steering box aren't 'V' shaped but rather 'U' shaped. That in conjunction with the tight tolerance are making it impossible. The groove doesn't matter in this case because the splines will fill it. So I guess I need to...

    Flaming River U-joint Coupler Issues

Hi, I'm trying to install Flaming River u-joints in place of the 'biscuit' and lower slip joint. The top is 3/4" x 36 spline and the lower is 5/8" 36 spline Top fits fine, but I'll be damned if the lower ujoint will slip onto the splines, I've confirmed it is 36 splines and measured with my...

My metal guy got the fender done and I'm really pleased. He filled all the trim holes and aerial hole, also replaced the lower metal with some fabricated patches.
