    1968 300 build sheet

I thought I would share what I found since most of you would find this interesting. While addressing an issue with my '68 300, I came across a production broadcast sheet tucked beneath the passenger seat's back cover. It is in remarkably well-preserved condition, and as you can see the word...

Firm feel or Steer $ gear?

I had Steer and Gear rebuild mine with the "stock feel". Turn around was quick and very pleased how she performs on the road. Responsive but not overly touchy like it used to be. City and back roads driving is great. On highway driving I can keep the steering wheel centered without having to...

What are you working on today??

Yes you can. This is where I had it done. Prices are comparable to other places , but the turnaround is two weeks compared to some really long waits at others. » Radio Rebuilds & Conversions Instrument Specialties

What are you working on today??

I spent the day in my freezing my *** off in the garage, but the payoff was worth it - my rebuilt radio is now equipped with Bluetooth, USB, four new stereo speakers, and hands-free phone, just like a new car. I upgraded all the lights to the dash, ash tray, radio, and climate control to blue...

'68 300 Power vent window motor removal

The next project I have is the driver side power vent window. It works but needs a little persuasion to open and doesn’t close all the way by just a hair. Just enough to get the irritating whistling noise driving at highway speeds. I would like to take it out and inspect, clean, and re grease...

What are you working on today??

The winter projects continue on my '68 Chrysler 300. The stock radio was removed and it's in Rhode Island for conversion to modern components USB, Bluetooth, chrome re-polish etc.,which should pair up nicely with power antenna I rebuilt and the new speakers I installed. The radio should be...

What are you working on today??

I had my power steering gear box and pump rebuilt from Steer & Gear and today got the chance to go for a cruise. I went with the OEM stock feel and couldn't be more happier. No more leaks and really nice confident feel at the wheel. Video taken on back roads heading towards the historic town...

    Build sheet question

This is what is on my '68 300. The build sheet I found under the driver's seat is not marked for engine block heater but there is one on the car. This was a car ordered at the dealer for a customer in Minnesota. Dealer installed?

What are you working on today??

The refresh of the driver's side power seat assembly is finally done and installed back into the car. A tip is to compress the spring and use zip ties to keep it in place when you take apart the gear. It makes assembly MUCH easier. Use a power drill and the cable to spin it to compress it down...

What are you working on today??

I did a lot of multi-tasking today. Crack of dawn I worked on the second step of prepping, taping, paint, and touch up on one of my wheel covers. Afterwards, I did started the second wheel cover to get the black ring that surrounds the medallion and give it 24 hours to cure. To see how I did it...

'68 Chrysler 300 15" Disc Brake Wheel cover restoration

I buffed the wheel covers to a mirror finish and moved forward to repaint the black ring around the center cover and silver between the “spokes” that give the wheel cover a perception of depth. I went to the local auto paint supply store and got some masking tape that worked wonderfully since...

What are you working on today??

Worked on the rear quarter power windows today. I drilled a hole to fit a 1/4" bolt to secure the regulator in place and then removed the motor. Cleaned up the hardened graphite grease, lubed up the gear with white lithium grease, and reinstalled. I checked the archives and found a post from...
