Is a welded driveshaft typical on 73 c bodies?

I have a 73 Newport I’ve been redoing the motor on. I decided recently to pull the trans since I thought it might be easier to get the motor in that way. Long story short, I tried to remove my driveshaft by removing the u clips, and I then realized it was welded to the piece connecting to the...

Issues with cam bearings and clearances. Cam will not fit.

Wouldn’t using sandpaper create uneven surface unless you go in circles with the same force applied? Difficult to do by hand I assume. That would be my only concern with doing it that way.

Issues with cam bearings and clearances. Cam will not fit.

It’s a lisle brand tool. Bought used though so I have no clue what condition it’s in aside form just looking. Hard to tell how flat it is after years of being used.

Issues with cam bearings and clearances. Cam will not fit.

so I’m working on a 400 engine out of my car, and I’m doing a full rebuild. Taking apart the engine wasn’t bad, but I struggled to get the old camshaft out a bit. I actually had to slightly beat it out of the motor with a dead blow hammer. Anyways, about a month or a month and half ago I took...

For Sale 1973 Grand Fury Part Out

I think It’s very neat you know so much, and that’s a very well written explanation for all of it. Thank you. One more thing- if you don’t mind me asking, why do you collect this stuff? Do you own a museum or something? Or Is it just for some sort of preservation purposes? I’m really just...

For Sale 1973 Grand Fury Part Out

I’m sorry, I didn’t grab any of that. I’m just a newbie. I don’t really know what a trim tag or broadcast sheet is. if I had known, I could have grabbed it. My current Mopar I bought a few months ago and it’s my first one.

For Sale 1973 Grand Fury Part Out

The car? Junked. I went up there and pulled parts off for a few hours, and just after I left (according to my knowledge) it went to the scrapyard. He said he had no use for it, and I took all I needed.

For Sale 1973 Gran fury AM/FM radio+AC setup. needs good home. Free+shipping.

Just wana help out the mopar community. If you need one, and can fix it, you’re welcome to have it. I’d prefer this goes to someone who will use it. I pulled it out of a 73 grand fury that was getting scrapped. I thought maybe it would fit a 73 Chrysler Newport, and it does not because the dash...

What to do with crank imperfections?

Yes. When I removed the old rod bolts that’s what caused these nicks. I really wasn’t thinking while disassembly since the motor was locked up and I wasn’t even sure if the parts were still good. I should have been more careful, and I’m sure it’s a mistake I’ll only make once. Thank you.

What to do with crank imperfections?

I’ll probably end up calling my local machine shop and seeing what they recommend. I hate to do it as I was ready for reassembly, but need to do things right the first time.

What to do with crank imperfections?

Recently I’ve begun rebuilding my 400 mopar engine. This is my first rebuild, so I’m learning as I go watching many videos online before trying things. As the title states, my crankshaft had a few dings in it. I polished it at home with sandpaper and oil before installation (400, 800, 1000...

Did I make a mistake painting over where my exhaust manifold & valve covers bolt up?

I’m sure it’s an easy answer. I just want to know if there’s more recovery than just a razor blade lol. Any suggestions welcome.

Is there a “good enough” when lining up oil holes in cam bearing installation?

changing cam bearings in my 400 mopar. Got new ones in and this is my first time doing it. The one with multiple oil holes are very close, but it seems no matter what direction I try to change it will make the others worse other than a tiny amount. My question is, is this good enough based on...

Where to buy water pump housing attachments for 73 400 engine?

As title states, I’m looking for the attachments on the water pump housing for my 400 mopar rebuild. They were damaged in the rebuild process, and I’m looking to buy new ones or possibly used if there’s no other options. i have found a replacement temp sender/sensor, but the temperature...
