The stamping could be 3B3, would that make it a 1973?

I want to put the transmission in my 1971 340 Duster, that is what I am trying to figure out. If it will work without mods. It is an original 3 speed on the floor car.

Can't find any casting numbers like that, only A4, C99129

I purchased a 4 speed transmission and now am trying to figure out the original vehicle it was in using the stamped numbers on the pad on the side of it. Does anyone know how to do this or where I can look to find out? Stamped on main case: 8B375XXX (Last three digits not listed) PP83 4219...
