I found a broadcast sheet in the seatback of one of my front buckets but I can't recall now if was the driver's side or the passenger's side. That is also a place to check but I know your car probably doesn't have bucket seats. However, if it does, that is another place to check.

Per the specs on the American Racing website my wheels have a 4 inch backspace. They are part number VN50177012500 if that helps. Again, they are 17 X 7 and I have no issues with any interference on the body or suspension front or back.

I would not recommend going up to 18 inch wheels simply because as the sidewall gets smaller the air pressure required for the tire increases and that translates directly in to a harsher ride. I find that on my car I am OK with it up to about 40psi but higher than that starts to really affect...

At 17x7 I believe that is true, but I am not the expert so I can't say for certain. I would guess the 18 inch might be a little different, taller perhaps, but again, I can't say for certain.
