Photos of Vintage Auto Dealerships, Repair Shops, and Gas Stations

Here is my Dads gas station from 1960 until 1968. I worked there starting at 10 years old. so I got to see every car model under the sun, serviced them, and had front seat at all the street racing of the time! I just sat on the curb by that stoplight and watched! it was a Mobil station in...

Did the 69 Polara ever come with 14" wheels?

Toyo 225/75x15 with the 15x6. If I were to do it over again, I think the 215/75 would handle tighter. These toyos seem to roll on the rim a bit with the 15x6, as the manufacturer recommends 6.5 rims or wider. I did have 225/75 toyos on my 15x6.5 steelies, (1977 Cordoba)and they drove very much...

Did the 69 Polara ever come with 14" wheels?

here you go. The Gtx with the 215/75x14 sits taller than the picture suggests. The polara has 225/75x15 Toyo Tires mounted. I don't have a picture yet of the 15x6 painted with dog dish caps available.

Did the 69 Polara ever come with 14" wheels?

I can get one tomorrow. on the Coronet I blasted and painted the 15x6 wheels to the color of the car, then Used a nice set of 68-69 dog dish caps. on my 66 Polara , I Installed 15x6 wheels and Installed 1969-71 chrysler full caps, which I think fit the style reallly well.

    P225/75R14 Tires

I installed the Vercelli 215/75-14 WW, (made in Thailand) and the car (69 Coronet) drives like they did in the 70's. I have no complaints so far. under 98 bucks to your door.I also bought 215/70-14 but I don't care for the low profile look.

Did the 69 Polara ever come with 14" wheels?

I went to the 68 C body 15x6 rims, which were standard when equipped with disc brakes. I could not locate any 15 inch rallyes anywhere. When equipped with 14inch,( my 66-68) they were 14x6.

    anyone try Valvoline VR1

I use VR1 in all my classic cars, they run very well, no problems here. Also, when I drained the previous oil with the zinc additive I had added some time back, I found the zinc in the bottom of the pan and plugged up the oil filter, as it had not blended with the oil.

1958 Dodge Coronet - Moving from Flathead to a V8

You will have to stay pre 62' for your drivetrain, as the crank/bellhousing/clutch assy is unique to the model. an older polyhead would work if you could find a parts car you need, mainly everything North from the bell going forward. Most people just drop in a newer drivetrain, and can the rear...

Question about a stuck 326 Dodge engine

the 383 in 65' is not the same 383 as the pre_63 383, and the polyhead bellhousing/trans is all different, as in the poly head world.

CLASSIC CAR INSURANCE: GRUNDY, HAGERTY, OR ?

I left Hagerty seven years ago, as they were arbitrarily raising the annual rate on all my cars. Then I had a very disagreeable experience with them in regards to getting my vehicle towed home after an engine problem. I sat in a very busy service station four 4 hours, and some low end guy...

'67 C body production info aka "How many?"

thank you all for being Interested in the 67'. I thought the car's history to be even more Interesting! The car was a special order as documented on the data plate. The car was owned by the original owner until 1980 or so I was told, (and confirmed when I found a letter to the state pleading...
